What To Know & Bring

Pre-Vacation Jitters?

To reduce your anxiety about leaving your precious pup with us, we advise that you make sure that:

  • You have filled out all online forms
  • Your dog's vaccinations are up to date
  • Your dog's food has been prepared
  • You have called within 24 hours
  • You make sure to leave contact info
  • Your dog is healthy. Please do not bring in a sick pet. This compromises the health of our other guests.
  • Your dog's vaccinations are up-to-date & on a flea and tick preventative
  • Your dog has packed his luggage
  • Your dog's food has been prepared and labeled
  • You have called within 24 hours to confirm Drop-Off time
  • You make sure to leave contact numbers for you on your trip, plus local emergency contacts in case you cannot be reached.

Food & Treats

Our house food is Blue Buffalo brand dry dog food. We have several different varieties, including grain-free, and we feed MilkBone dogs treats. It is not necessary to bring bowls and feeding dishes. Dogs are provided with clean dishes for each meal.

Boarding in a new place can be exciting and, sometimes, a little stressful. A change in diet can contribute to the stress on your dog's body, possibly resulting in diarrhea or vomiting. * We strongly suggest bringing your dog's regular food and treats to help prevent this.

* Please note, we do not allow rawhides.

All food, treats and medications from home should be packed in a sealable container (ziploc bag or plastic Tupperware style), per feeding and clearly marked with the dog's name. Please do not send anything in glass containers. Any medications must be in a container and clearly marked with the name of the medication, dosage requirements and the pet's name.

We have a refrigerator for any perishable foods and/or medications your may send, as well as a microwave for anything needing to be heated.

Belongings

All of our guests are provided with clean, luxurious fleece bedding. These "super mats" are high pile, offering an almost stuffed feel. Unlike stuffed beds, however, this bedding provides consistent cushioning and safety for chewers. We have a variety of options from roomy human beds to extra large crates for the pups that are used to such accommodations at home. We are sure to have something that suits your dog's particular style or special needs.

We also offer elevated cots for all of our guests! Please let us know if your dog is known to chew, shred or otherwise destroy bedding. Such behavior can be harmful to your dog's health if he ingests fabric or stuffing from bedding. Your dog's personal belongings are not required. Should you bring your own bedding, we are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged belongings.

Toys

Toys from home are not necessary. Our guests are kept very busy all day so that by bedtime, they are ready to rest. We have a large variety of balls, Kongs, and chew toys to keep your dog busy. You may send a toy for your dog to sleep with during naptime and overnight. Please label items clearly.

ID Tags

All dogs should have an identification tag with their name, phone number or address of the owner.

The Ultimutt Inn reserves the right to immediately change your dog's type of boarding/daycare if we believe it is necessary to protect the health and well-being of your dog, other dogs, or a staff member.

HAVE A SAFE trip and know that we'll be providing GREAT CARE for your pet!
